I always loved the simplicity and taste of Bisquick's shortcake so I found the homemade alternative. It's similar to the texture of a scone and just delicious with or without strawberries and whipped cream.
Makes 6 large shortcakes
Mix in bowl:
2 cups flour (I used w/w and it was great!)
1/2 cup powdered milk
2 tbls baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 heaping cup sugar
1 1/4 cup milk
3 tbls melted butter
Batter should be moist, but sticky. Spoon about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of batter onto ungreased pan. Bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes.
Enjoy alone or with fruit and whipped cream onto. TOO EASY!!
